Rehabcare Navan

Martin Mc Laughlin is the Community Services Manager at Rehabcare Navan. Here he manages a Resource Centre for people with intellectual disabilities to provide a respite and promote independent living and social skills. They have almost 80 adults attending their service that range in age from 18 to 65 from all over Co Meath. Martin spoke to us about his experience with volunteers.

MS therapy centre

Bernie Mc Cabe, is a service user and committee member of the MS therapy centre in Trim. They provide a drop in centre for people with MS in the north east as well as providing physiotherapy, hypobaric therapy, reflexology, massage and acupuncture.

SOSAD Navan

SOSAD Navan is based in bright, welcoming house on the outside of the town.   Every caller is welcomed by a friendly face and a cup of tea as soon as they step inside the door. This informal setting helps create a safe environment for people who are at risk of suicide to come and get help and support.

Empowerment Plus

Empowerment Plus is a National success story born out of Meath. In 2008 Meath man Tom Clogher designed a model of child protection services which he then presented to the HSE. The model was based on thinking creatively and looking at new and innovative methods on working with ‘at risk’ families. They model has proven successful and since then it has been going from strength to strength.

National Exotic Animal Sanctuary

The National Exotic Animal Sanctuary is tucked away in the Meath countryside just outside Ballivor – down windy roads and at the bottom of a boreen you come across the humble premises of this fantastic organisation. The sanctuary was set up over a year ago and has been supported by Meath Volunteer Centre from the start.
